Established in 2022, found after dark began as a bedroom project for Max Gowan and Travis Harrington to hone their recording skills together. Now located in the basement of the historic Carter building in downtown Raleigh, the studio has grown into a unique and lively space informed by the building's unrefined charm: teeth left behind by a previous tenant, a repurposed vault, intermittent train interruptions, and nighttime operation hours.

 

Max and Travis are driven by a sense of immediacy, a desire to do the best with what is available, and offer recording, mixing, and mastering services for projects of any kind.
